Wrote a verse today, then deleted it. Wrote a better one, then lost it. It's coming along.

I don't talk about it much, but I work nights at a hospital laundry. The machines run all hours, and the rhythm of them is in half of what I write. If you've ever wondered where the hiss on my records comes from, now you know. It's real, it's loud, and it pays the rent.
