Spotify structurally can't do this page. Their label deals are under NDA — they are not permitted to tell you where your money went, even if they wanted to. We have no such deals, so there is nothing to stop us, and therefore no excuse.

Conflict of interest — disclosed

ARTIST FILE — EXAMPLE

The person who built this also has music on it.

SNR was built by one person, and that person releases music as MAUVAISE FOI. That catalogue is on the platform. It earns from the same pools, under the same splits, at the same take rate as every other artist here. There is no promotional weighting, no house account, no editorial thumb on the scale, and no separate rate card.

He is a payee like anyone else, which means his payout is a line in the ledger — and it publishes here every month alongside everyone else's aggregate, without him getting to decide whether it's a flattering month.

If you found this out on your own, it would be a scandal. So we're telling you first, on the page you'd have gone looking on.

Artists' money we are holding

Live · no login

The float.

Every platform that holds artists' money in escrow earns interest on it, and most of them will not tell you how much they're holding. An artist earning $0.15 a month will never hit a withdrawal threshold, and their balance sits with us indefinitely. It stays theirs indefinitely. Here is the number, and it needs no login — that's the point of it.

Held on behalf of artists
$12,953.53
Artists owed money
327
Inside the 30-day hold
$8,173.02

Not withdrawable yet. A chargeback has to be able to land while the money is still here.

Withdrawable right now
$4,780.51

Theirs, aged out of the hold, waiting on a request.

Disclosure

SNR is holding $12,953.53 on behalf of 327 artists. $8,173.02 is inside its 30-day hold; $4,780.51 is withdrawable now. None of it expires, and none of it ever becomes ours.

You followed VERIFY ↗ off a receipt

What that code does and doesn't prove.

Every receipt carries a verification mark at the bottom, like the runout groove on a record. Select Verify to open the matching month's receipt.

SNR checks the mark and displays the receipt returned from its records. That confirms the mark is valid; it does not independently audit the underlying ledger records.

The lookup works for open and closed months. An open month's figures can change as listening continues; a closed month's receipt records its final allocation.

Not yet, and here's why

Four numbers this page owes you.

Subscriptions aren't live. There has never been a pool, so there has never been a split, so there is no median, no total paid out, and no take rate to report. Each of these publishes the month the first pool closes — and then every month after, whatever it says.

Median per-stream rate
With the full distribution behind it — the 10th percentile and the 90th, not a headline multiplier. There is no fixed per-stream rate under a user-centric model, so a single number without a spread would be a marketing claim wearing a statistic.

Total paid to artists
Gross allocated, and the count of artists it reached.

Subscribers
A count. Not "users", not "monthly actives" — people paying us money.

Revenue, costs, take rate
What came in, what it cost to run, and what fraction of the money we kept. Including the months where the answer is embarrassing.

We could fill this table today with what the model predicts. Every startup does. But a projection printed in the same typeface as a fact is how a transparency page becomes a brochure, and then the number that finally arrives has to compete with the one we made up. Empty rows it is.

True today, no month required

The rules the ledger enforces.

  • We take between $2 and $5. That's it.

On a monthly subscription, we take 20% of the price, with a $2 minimum and a $5 maximum. The card fee (2.9% + $0.30) comes out of our cut, not the artists' — so at $7, we keep $1.50 after the fee.

  • Unallocated pool is deferred, then distributed, then the subscription is cancelled. It never becomes ours.

A subscriber who stops listening: Month 1 the pool sits unallocated. Months 2–3 it distributes to the artists they already played, weighted by their qualified plays over the last six months. Month 4 we stop charging them. If they never listened to anything at all, the pool sits unallocated until they do. At no point does the money revert to us.

  • Balances stay theirs indefinitely.

There's a ~$20 withdrawal threshold, because 400 micro-payouts a month would cost more than they move. Nothing expires, nothing is swept, nothing reverts to us.

  • Sales take 3% on Pro, 10% on Free.

And the artist is the merchant of record — the money goes to their own Stripe account, not into ours and out again. When a sale is refunded, we absorb Stripe's processing fee so the artist's net on a reversed sale is exactly zero rather than negative.

  • Artists are never told which individual funded them.

Artists see counts and totals, never names tied to individual payments. That keeps listeners' activity private. You can still see how your subscription was allocated.
